Atelier

A true artist is born with pure inspiration and support from fellow artists. So, to achieve this many went to social media in search of things that will inspire them, teach them, and lead them to a safe place where they could share their work without a second thought.

but...

Copyright issues are becoming huge concern on social media platforms

Algorithm is serving nonsensical contents over the desired ones

Moderation is non - existent

AI wave is unguarded surging over platforms so quickly

Metrics are heavily demotivating for newbees

The niche group of artists dissappears in the vastness of global social media

Talking with professional artists and aspiring artists brought their perspectives into a quantifiable form, There is a group of people who can handle the lack of a proper art community on any social media as long as they can get recognition and protection from art theft and AI. The other group is scared of posting their work due to fear of harsh feedback and craves advice from experienced people.

SOLUTIONS

Flagging AI generated images

Handshake with the future

AI is a remarkable tool with the potential to greatly benefit artists. However, its rapid advancement poses significant risks to the creative community. Consequently, platforms bear a crucial responsibility to handle AI carefully. Atelier addresses this challenge by flagging AI-generated images through metadata detection and community feedback.

Protection

For serious copyright violations, Atelier provides a copyright strike option to the owner of the artwork.

When artists upload their work, they get an option to enable theft protection, so whenever Atelier finds any reposted image it flags that as a repost. It is done with an image recognition model.

Viewers can report posts and add notes, allowing Atelier to detect problems that are generally impossible to detect seamlessly. Atelier then displays those notes to everyone.

Monetization

If an artist's work resonates with followers they will get rewarded as many people will become super followers and donate money to the artist, it gives exclusive benefits to the follower and monetary value to the artist. Win-win for both!

Customizing the feed

Choosing what you see

Giving the ability to disable unwanted ad topics and promising to deliver most of the ads based on art genre atelier becomes the least intrusive social media for you, As ads are necessary for a company we cannot shut it down completely but allow you and have us sit on a common ground is better for both.
Atelier also allows you to mute specific words, and posts containing those words will be removed from your feed.

Why hide the metrics for public?

For art posts, metrics are concealed from the public to prevent biased judgment, foster equal opportunity, and sustain artistic motivation among beginners. In contrast, threads, serving as informational hubs, necessitate public metrics visibility to substantiate claims and facilitate truth verification.

Providing detailed analytics exclusively to the content creator is indispensable for performance evaluation and strategic decision-making. This data empowers artists, particularly professionals, to refine their craft and navigate the complexities of the art market.

Closing Thoughts

Atelier is a concept that can be turned into a reality anytime, It solves real problems and there's an audience for it, since I published this case study there has already been a new social media dedicated to artists known as 'Cara'. But, the question I ask myself is that... Did I do a good job? Well, I am pretty confident about that. There are things that I can improve and add more features for sure and I would if I start making this app and do more extensive testing and collaboration with developers that would open my mind even more.
I have not even created a desktop version :( But the core problems are solved and social media is a constantly growing and changing place we don't know which will be the next popular format, hence being open-minded and hopeful is key to viewing this product's future.

I enjoyed a lot creating this project and hope you liked it, Peace <3
